Midwife Manager - Waitematā District | Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora

• North Shore Hospital Maternity Services

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate midwife to lead our maternity service at North Shore Hospital. You will report to the District Chief Midwife and will provide operational leadership to a large multidisciplinary team. You will oversee the delivery of safe, high quality, whānau centred care. You will lead quality improvements in the service and on occasion work directly with whānau where your expertise is required.

You will have:

• A current NZ Midwifery APC and at least 5 years' midwifery experience, including leadership experience
• A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity and whānau-centred care.
• Proven ability to lead with integrity and compassion
• Experience in service delivery, quality improvement, and leading change

Key tasks

• Lead the day-to-day operation of maternity service at North Shore Hospital
• Deliver safe rostering, staffing and skill mix to ensure safe provision of quality care
• Create a work environment that is safe, supportive and enables kaimahi and maternity access holders to thrive
• Support, coach and develop high-performing teams
• Champion continuous improvement and clinical excellence
• Collaborate with all parts of the maternity service across both hospitals and community to deliver care as a team
• Maintain close oversight of the budget and remain within the financial parameters of the service.
