About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be working within both the General Ward and the Illness and Injury Clinic at Dargaville Hospital. The care you give will enhance the outcomes for patients through education, liaison with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, co-coordinating the treatment and discharge planning processes for patients.

• Utilise professional knowledge and skill to provide a holistic approach to nursing care that is safe, of the highest quality possible Standard and in accordance with:
  • Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau policies
  • Registered Nurse Scope of Practice
  • Nursing Practice Standards
  • Nursing Council of NZ Registered Nurse competencies
  • Nursing Council code of conduct

• Provision of nursing care is in consultation and partnership with the patient/client/family/ whanau, where the rights and needs of all people are acknowledged within the context of the Treaty of Waitangi.
• Provide skilled nursing care through application of clinical knowledge and theory to nursing practice.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Dargaville Hospital provides hospital-level and community healthcare services to the people of Kaipara. Our General Ward is a 12-bed unit that also provides acute emergency care and supports planned procedures, offering nurses a broad and rewarding scope of practice.

About you

As a Registered Nurse in a rural environment, you will be flexible, able to work independently and as part a multidisciplinary team. Good communication skills is a must, with the ability to build relationships across all age groups.

• Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Recent (within 2 years) clinical experience
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to practice in a culturally safe manner
