Quality Coordinator at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

About the Role

We are seeking applications for a full time, permanent Quality Coordinator position.

We understand that full time hours may not suit everyone. If you are looking for part-time hours, please include your preferred number of hours in your cover letter, and we will take this into consideration when reviewing applications.

This position will work within the Health Quality & Safety Service. The core work is to effectively and compassionately communicate and work with staff, consumers and whānau to manage, coordinate and support core HQSS activities such as incident investigation and complaint resolution. These positions require great relationship building skills, a good command of the English language, a solution focused mindset and patience.

You would be well supported by the wonderful team. Even though knowledge of adverse event management and Datix is essential this is also an excellent opportunity for someone to deepen their expertise in the Quality field.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of highly experienced clinical and non-clinical staff provide support for the organisation in all matters relating to quality and risk. This includes, but is not limited to conflict resolutions, clinical reviews in adverse events, risk mitigation strategies and clinical governance.

About you

You're someone who enjoys making a meaningful impact on healthcare quality and patient safety. You bring a collaborative approach, communicate with confidence, and are comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving environment

You will have:

  • Experience in a healthcare related field.
  • Preferable knowledge and understanding of quality, risk, and safety systems, including incident management, adverse event investigations, and clinical governance processes.
  • The ability to influence and build relationships, negotiate effectively, and challenge the status quo in a respectful, solutions focused way.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare excellent written reports, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical, and actionable recommendations.
